Kindergarten Jumpstart curriculum focuses on personal and social development, language and literacy, mathematical thinking, arts, and physical development. Children learn about practical elementary school skills including school bus safety and lunch routines and meet people who work in the elementary school including a principal, a cook, a custodian and a teacher. The three week program is modeled after an all-day kindergarten classroom experience with plenty of opportunities to learn through play and practice kindergarten readiness skills. Kindergarten JumpStart provides about-to-be kindergartners with engaging hands-on experiences and social learning intended to support the transition to full day kindergarten.
